Live Music Visuals was founded by Matthew Bain and it specializes in multiple disciplines including design, music composition, 3D animation, visualization, procedural art, audio analysis, user interface design, and pipeline development for a real time music visualization system.

Matthew grew up drawing, building, and playing music. He started drawing and playing the piano at a young age. These disciplines blossomed and expanded. Matt began composing music in middle school and his artistic talents began to utilize computers in high school. Matthew's BFA degree specialized in a unique blend of music and art with a curriculum he developed entitled Computer Graphics and Music Design. He continued to expand upon this research and completed his MFA from the Ohio State University in music and 3D computer animation. His thesis work, entitled "Real Time Music Visualization: A Study in the Visual Extension of Music", is the foundation for Live Music Visuals. Matthew's visualization work has been exhibited in numerous performances including the Drums Downtown concert series, the Redwood Symphony Orchestra, PASIC conference, and SIGGRAPH with a special performance and talk entitled See What You Feel: A Study in the Visual Extension of Music.
